Once we have
gone through the discovery process with our
clients, an investment plan is developed
that matches the client's portfolio to their
specific goals and needs. Together, we
review this plan and thoroughly discuss the
steps prior to making any portfolio changes.
This way our clients stay informed and in
control. It is our job to make things clear,
organized and easy for them so that they can
be sure they are taking the right steps
toward their ideal portfolio.
The investment plan is the road map to
implementing the goals identified during the
discovery process. Some of the key areas
covered are:
- Your long-term needs, objectives and
values
- A definition of the level of risk
that you are willing to accept
- The expected time horizon for your
investments
- The rate of return objective and
asset classes to be used in the
portfolio
- The investment methodology that will
be used
- How taxes will be managed
- The approach taken to rebalance the
portfolio
- The implementation plan
- The appropriate benchmarks to be
used in measuring success
We believe that it is important to have a
written plan which guides your investments.
With this plan in place, our clients are
less likely to select an investment strategy
that will prove inappropriate for them at
the worse possible time. The investment plan
allows the client to clarify what is
important and the plan keeps them
disciplined when the markets have setbacks
because we have already discussed the
effects of these setbacks with the client.
A Wealth Manager is much more than just
an investment manager. We use our skills to
help the client clarify and accomplish their
life’s aspirations. Having a plan helps us
stay focused on what is really important:
the client.
